Asthma and You: How Your Asthma Effects Your Life

Asthma and You: How it Really Effects You

I can recall one of my worst Asthma attacks. I was about 12 or 13 and had the wind knocked out of me in a game of dodge ball.

Not sure what happened next, but all I remember is that everyone was standing around me trying to figure out what was wrong. All I wanted to do was scream "I can't breathe!"

This was by far one of the most terrifying aspects of having this hereditary diesease. Everyone around you is watching and can't do anything about it.

Mind you, not everyone's asthma attacks are the same.

Plenty of sufferers hardly suffer at all. I am one of them, that now into adulthood, I rarely have an attack. Unless I am under tremendous stress, then I use my puffer daily, usually twice a day.

However, it is usually controlled. That maybe because I drink the coveted "coffee" every morning, or it maybe that it is more under control which happens on occasion as we age. There are some things you should know about Asthma though.

Do not drink water shortly before or after taking your asthma puffer. After repeated occurrences, the combination mimics the signs of a heart attack (at least it did for me).

It began with the chest pain, then down into the arm. Cramping, headaches and dizziness. I got very scared and talked to my pharmacist. Water to flush the mouth out is good, but not to drink it.

Try drinking it about 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after. Give your body a bit of time using your saliva to cleanse the system after taking your puffer.
There is a reason the information booklet is enclosed. This offers potential side effects, and sometimes includes case studies describing other abnormal reactions.

Note : This DOES NOT mean ignore what your body is telling you. You know yourself best. If you think you should get into the doctor, then get yourself in there.

Can food be a cure?

Well, I am here to tell you that YES! Food can do for you what medicine does and doesn't!

Something to remember when it comes to medicine.. It often has to remove some of the good stuff to get rid of the bad stuff!! ("Anti-Bodies") is just an example!

So when it comes to food, using Oils & fruits and Veggies is the way to go!

Have You Done a Diet?

You can share it or warn others here. Seeing as I used to run a Herbal Magic, I know how tough it is for others. But mostly, being a mom of two, I have personally lost over 50 lbs due to eating right. Share Your Diet Stories here.
