Bananas: Not just for Monkeys anymore!

Bananas: Peel, Eat & Enjoy!

Bananas are an excellent source of fiber and potassium. But with ripening happening so quickly what are you to do?

Start by keeping the fruit in a plastic bag or put in a brown paper bag with an apple to slow ripening.

Note: A fully ripe fruit of this sort can contain almost 5 teaspoons of naturally occurring sugars.

This means that a diabetic should refrain from eating this fruit unless they are completely aware of what their current blood sugar levels are at.

When ill with diarrhea, try the B.R.A.T. diet. That is Bananas, Rice, Apple juice, and Toast.

This combination of foods assists the body in absorbing the most nutrients as well as trying to form the stool.
