Today’s children are introduced to caffeine at a much early age then they used to be. Sometimes as early as the age of 1 or younger, little tikes can be found sipping pop at the local fast food place with their burger and fries.

Never mind the toxins that they are ingesting, the drink is so detrimental to their health and as parents we just don’t get it.

Did you know that one regular 355 ml can of pop in a 60lb kid is the equivalent of 2 cups of coffee in a 175 pound man? Wow, I know I am wired after having two cups of coffee as it gives me enough to get through the day when the kids where up two or 3 times.

Imagine that in someone half my size. No wonder they are bouncing off the walls and can’t seem to calm down.

The amount of sugar in it is astounding as well. Some of them contain as much as 7 teaspoons of sugar.

Wow

First you can start by removing any and all cola beverages from the house. Kids don’t like it?

Deal with it. You cannot expect your family to follow your lead if you yourself are going to be sipping on a glass when their back is turned. Talk about a loss of control.

It is going to be hard. But the sooner your kids realize that pop just isn’t going to be available anymore the better off they will be.

Behaviors will improve, as will their sleep patterns. Not to mention an array of other health concerns such as abdominal pain, head aches and plain old grouchieness.
