We are all worried about child health. In the Land of Parenting there live kids. One, two, sometimes three per household and they are apart of the “Now” society.

Being parents, we all want our babes to have what we didn’t. That could mean extra curricular activities, or treats in lunches.

Most kids over the age of 12 have digital cameras, iPods, or their own cell phone bought and paid for by mom and dad. Not in your house?

But I bet if you are reading this, your children have access to a computer and there is a high likelihood that there are geared to younger people games saved onto it.

These are just a few examples of how parents are trying to give to our children what we didn’t have growing up.

But they if have everything, why are “Please and Thank you” almost impossible to find? In teaching our children that hard work pays off some of the “old school value” that get people ahead, have been lost.

Our children are learning the easy way out each and every time and it starts over a simple item of food.

We have all been at the grocery store and watched a child kick and scream to get what they want.

Rarely will you see a parent walk way and allow the child to continue screaming, because really we don’t want to be thought of as a bad parent.

Applaud the parent that walks away and doesn’t give into the temper tantrum as embarrassing as they are. The treats that our children are ingesting are filled with sugar and numerous toxins that when eaten, stay inside the body.

Never mind the astounding behavior after they drink caffeine. And since children should NOT be doing cleanses they remain in the system for quite a long time as they cannot be excreted.

Not only are they detrimental to child health, no child needs to feel like they are over weight or un-appealing at any age.

It all begins with the brain. After eating, our ears hear differently. Serotonin levels tell the brain what to do including how to move the body’s limbs.

After eating sugar, the brain is sent messages from these serotonin levels at rapid rates, which in turn cause hyperactivity. The brain really is on a sugar high.

When the sugar high is over, they become sleepy, agitated, and they want more. Anger typically sets in at this point as the body is trying to breakdown the extra sugar that is floating around the system getting caught in the urinary tract and kidneys.

Children are being genetically engineered at younger ages on what to eat. Babies as young as 12 months can be seen eating French-fries that the local fast food joint.

Our children are eating foods at this young age, and it is causing their taste buds to become accustomed to the high salt high fat content.

Their body is having fewer cravings for healthier choices as their taste buds become numb and they slowly begin to adapt to a fast food lifestyle.

Every year younger and younger children are being diagnosed with yeast infections, chronic stomach pain, and obesity just to name a few. There is an increase in medical conditions such as snoring and others include those that wet the bed.
Coming full circle how does this really effect them?

How can bed-wetting and snoring be directly related to eating habits? With all those extra toxins in the system children are getting sick more often.

These toxins attach themselves to the healthy cell structure, and when a virus passes through, their body cannot fight it off.
What’s with all the snoring? Lack of sleep can also be associated with everything from snoring to aggression to bed wetting.

When our children are so tired, they are not getting enough deep sleep. And when they are not getting enough deep sleep, accidents happen. Coming full circle?

More laundry, more aggression and at the end of the night, parents are the ones who have to wake up sometimes two or three times a night. So what can we do?
Let us be honest. A child who is accustomed to eating junk food on a daily basis is not going to take lightly to suddenly no having chips or pop in the house.

Today’s working families and their diets are affecting our young people at dramatic rates. In the end, we are still going to have to pay by an increase for prescription drugs, more surgeries, and again the increase in stress due to more arguments in the house over what to eat and why they won’t eat an apple.
The best way to start the trend is to make those choices for your self. Grab an apple or a pear to snack on instead of reaching for the pretzels.

Make it a slow and gradual process and eventually the time will come when there are complaints because there are no grapes in the house instead of why there are no fruit snacks available.
