What’s in a chip?

ChipsOk, have you seen the part of the movie “Over The Hedge” where Bruce Willis a.k.a. “R.J.” holds up the Nacho flavored junk food to all his new friends and in complete likeness of the over powering taste, holds it in front of the sun for them to behold that awesome power?

The sun is shining behind it almost making it glow! Well.

If you consider what is in this little gift of garb and what it is doing to your body you may be doing a little “display” of your own.

The contents of a chip or pretzel for that fact are so toxic to your body, that after weeks of eating healthy people have reported “hang-over” like symptoms from just one night of snacking.

Imagine if your body was like “Vincent – the bear”. R.J. is after all this junk food, and Vincent has it. When Vincent wakes up he sees his friend is trying to steal from him.

Imagine that when you eat junk food like that, your body instantly sends messages to your brain telling you that you are stealing from it.

These messages come in the form of “I am thirsty". But how many of us grab the water?

Nope, if your body is semi-lucky you will grab the diet pop. But even that is rare.

When the message reaches your brain “I am still hungry", you continue to eat. If you took a minute or two to realize that your body is actually saying that you are full, you would stop eating and put the junk away. The chips and pretzels and cheesie’s that are in these wonderful little baggies are so bad for your body that your blood sugar levels are sent crashing right away.

Hence, the “I am still hungry” messages your body sends out and why we just can’t put down that bag of junk.
