Fat: Skinny or Overweight how Fat effects Us

Is it really possible to have a skinny fat person? Or a fat skinny person? Actually, yes.

Both are likely although humanly impossible to most of us, there are those fortunate few that can gobble all the junk food they want and still lose weight.

But rest assured, it will catch up to those unfortunates.

Now, some gather it in the form of saddlebags that hang so nicely on the outer thighs, and yet others conceal it perfectly with nylons.

Men typically gather it in the form of rock hard abs: The world renowned “Beer Belly”. All are quite attractive when hidden away properly, however, the tight shirts that pull at the buttons and the stretch jeans can really only go so far.

This is the after math of “I am thin and can eat what I want” Syndrome. Not only do these people become a gathering spot for clogged arteries and fat deposits, their Cholesterol levels are rocketing through the roof.

That’s because their HDL levels (good Cholesterol) cannot keep up. High density Lipoproteins carry the bad cholesterol into the liver to be cleaned and carried out of the system.

When the LDL Levels (bad Cholesterol) are having a stick up in the artery walls, the rest of the body suffers. Low Density Lipoproteins when ingested into the system “stick” to the walls of the heart.

Eventually when enough time passes, and over the years all those cute little LDL’s are clung together and have decided to call themselves family you have a heart attack. (This is not the only way a body has one but very common.)

The heart has to work harder to bring the “used” blood back into the heart to be cleaned and out to the rest of the system, fresh oxygen and all.

    However...

When there is less and less room to pull the blood through the heart becomes more strained then it is accustomed to. (Like trying to pour thick molasses through a strainer.. Not the best idea is it?)

And so ever so filled with Love? The heart collapses and you are off for a date with the doctor. Ok, so what’s up with all that fat? And why the heart and not your feet?

Well, for starters your feet are for walking and not for doing blood transfusions to the rest of your body. Nor are they for bringing clean oxygen into the rest of your system. (Well, if your working out it helps with that whole part but that is neither here nor there.)

So if at the doctors they have told you that your LDL levels (low density lipoproteins) are too high, I would suggest not to do a dance. But if your HDL levels (high density lipoproteins) are a nice number, take a salsa class. The benefits to healthy eating do more then just give you an opportunity for more energy and make you feel good, they can actually save your life.
