Fresh Vegetables: Why Fresh Never comes in a Can!

Fresh Vegetables: Why You shouldn't eat from a can!

Fresh Vegetables are simply the best produce treat anyone can offer during the year.

I love going to the Farmer's Market, but I am convinced my children love shopping for this reason also. (I promise, it has nothing to do with the fact that I give them the money and they can pick any fruit or vegetable they want!) Promise!

The thing about being able to pick your own produce is that it really does benefit everyone! Often you have a choice of several if not hundreds of different marketers who all are competing for your dollar. These make prices much lower then any grocery store I have walked into in months.

I bought a basket of Tomatoes just the other day for a dollar! A Dollar!! I bought 12 Large golden apples for $3. I couldn't believe the prices of some the fresh vegetables.

But what about the stuff in the can?

Well, I hate to break it to you..

Oh, who am I kidding.. I'm going to tell you straight. Unless you have a major gastrointestinal disease like Crohn's there is absolutely no reason for you to be eating canned foods. Especially canned fruits and vegetables.

It is jammed packed with sodium, sugars of all kinds and not to mention that there is little to no nutritional value to them whatsoever.

Keep Updated on what Fresh food Can do for you!

Now of course, the canned company makers of the world like to tell us different because hey, it's easy to put something in a can and call it healthy.

But at the end of the day I would be very cautious about what you purchase. The only reason I say this is because some things should only have one expiry date.

A splash of Vitamin C or fiber or folic (for example) to be put into a can and then can be stored for two or three years on the shelf should raise some questions for us all.

And if it is not raising any questions for you, than maybe it is time to be a little more cautious. I highly suggest signing up for our E-Zine and to begin recieving tips and hints and fantastic recipes.
