Many Gout sufferers can not perform regular day to day activities at the onset of a gout attack. Some do not even have the benefits of relief from the medications that they are taking.
One reason why there may be an increase in pain from this debilitating disease is due to crystallizing uric acid and sugars.
When there is an excess of sugars in the system the kidneys tend to slow down their work and the remaining sugar remains in the system and often crystallizes in these painful areas. This can also be caused by junkfood and alcohol.
A very dear friend of mine has suffered for years with gout and his experience led me to researching more and more on it. At one time Shark Cartilage supplements would have helped but they are no longer offered.
For a person with this disease it can be very difficult to continue day to day activities, as the regular movements cause more pain and inflammation.
Although there are many benefits to eating asparagus because it is high in purines which in turn increases uric acid, many sufferers should avoid eating this and other vegetables high in this nutrient.
