Water bottles are cheap. They basically come a dime a dozen and you can buy this drink for as little as 67 cents.
But did you know that you shouldn't reuse them? That's right.
Clean as you are and as well as I am sure that you soap them up in hot water, it is dangerous to your health to have them for repeated use.
Certain bottles are okay to reuse, but it must be the right bottle! On the bottom of water bottles there are different numbers.
A 1 or a 7 means that it is not good to reuse. Basically the thicker the plastic the more likely you can use them again.
The numbers "1" and "7" are for faster biodegradability.
This is so they decompose faster for the environment when being recycled. Properly.
Water Bottle Storage.
When you buy the cases of water, look at the expiry date. It has been proven time and time again that bottled water is glorified tap water that went through a filter. Why an expiry date? Because if you leave this tap water sitting long enough you will find little friends growing inside.
Just like anything else there is still bacteria present and you must use it within a reasonable time.
Any beverage that sits on the shelf for too long will begin to grow friends. It is essential for the drinker to use it within the time stated or risk getting ill.
And never ever reuse that bottle. What happens is that over time the plastic will begin to seep into the drink. (Hence another reason for the expiry date.)
And with continued use even after the best of cleaning practices, the plastic will still seep into the water bottle.
Best bet?
Use it once and put it into the recycling bin to be reused in the manner of which it was intended.
